Jatinder “JP” Brar
Candidate for National Council – British Columbia
A steady, principled voice for BC members and EDAs.
Welcome
Strong organizations are built on trust, clear communication, and people taking responsibility for the work in front of them. Those principles matter in any organization, and they matter especially in a national political party.
I’m running for National Council because I believe British Columbia members deserve representation that is practical, fair, and grounded in integrity. This role is not about visibility or titles. It is about stewardship, accountability, and doing the work properly.
Who Am I
My name is Jatinder Brar. Most people know me as JP.
The values that guide how I approach leadership were shaped early in life. I was raised to believe that your word matters, that honesty is essential, and that integrity shows in how you act when responsibility is placed in your hands.
I was taught to treat people fairly, take responsibility for my actions, and stand behind decisions once they are made. Those lessons stayed with me as I moved into leadership roles later in life.
My background includes leadership roles with CAW, UNIFOR and ATU International, where representing others carried real responsibility. In those roles, listening mattered, decisions had consequences, and credibility was built through consistency and follow-through.
Within the Conservative Party, I’ve been active across the Lower Mainland and Interior British Columbia, supporting grassroots outreach, local events, and door knocking. I believe effective leadership starts by showing up, staying connected, and understanding what members and EDAs are dealing with on the ground. I’m also a father of two, one in middle school and one attending UBC Okanagan. That perspective keeps me focused on long-term thinking and on making decisions responsibly, with future generations in mind. Those who work with me describe my approach as calm, thoughtful, and direct. I value honest conversations, respectful disagreement, and practical solutions. I’m not interested in political theatre. I’m interested in doing the work well.

Why am I running?
National Council is a working body. Its effectiveness depends on preparation, accountability, and staying closely connected to the members and EDAs it serves.
I’m running because I believe British Columbia needs representation at the national table that listens carefully, communicates clearly, and follows through. Members deserve decisions that are made in good faith, applied fairly, and explained transparently.
I see this role as a stewardship responsibility, and I take that responsibility seriously.
Guiding Principles
As a working body, National Council’s effectiveness depends on preparation, accountability, and staying closely connected to the members and EDAs it serves.
I firmly believe British Columbia needs representation at the national table that listens effectively, communicates clearly, and follows through. As your representative at the national table, I will ensure decisions are made in good faith, applied fairly, and explained transparently.
This role requires stewardship, responsibility, and integrity, which I will bring to the table as I have in my previous roles.

Responsibility to Future Generations
Good governance requires thinking beyond the short term. Decisions made today should not place unnecessary burdens on future generations. Fiscal discipline and long-term planning are essential to responsible stewardship.

Respect for Rights and Freedoms
A healthy democracy depends on respect for individual rights, freedom of conscience, and the rule of law. Leadership requires fairness, consistency, and respect for differing views.

Protection of the Vulnerable
A core responsibility of governance is ensuring the safety and security of citizens, particularly those who are most vulnerable. Decisions should be guided by care, responsibility, and fairness.

Respect for Families and Community
Strong communities are built on families, personal responsibility, and mutual respect. Leadership should recognize the important role families and communities play in shaping the next generation.

How I Approach Leadership
I believe leadership starts with listening and is sustained by accountability.
I try to be accessible, consistent, and fair. I return calls and emails. I believe in clear communication, confidentiality where appropriate, and taking responsibility when things don’t go as planned.
If elected, I will work to ensure BC members and EDAs know their perspectives are being brought forward honestly and responsibly, even when the conversations are difficult.
Representation means accountability.
My Focus on National Council

01
Clear and timely communication
BC EDAs should receive information early enough to plan and prepare effectively. Communication from National should be predictable, practical, and useful to the people running ridings on the ground.
03
Long-term organizational readiness
A strong party requires preparation. That means building election-ready teams early, supporting volunteer development, and ensuring people have the training and tools they need to organize, engage voters, and run effective campaigns.
02
Direct support for EDAs
I will stay closely connected to EDA presidents and local organizers by meeting with them more regularly, understanding local challenges firsthand, and assisting where possible with membership engagement and growth.
04
Credible representation for British Columbia
British Columbia has distinct political dynamics. National decisions should reflect realities on the ground. I will bring forward region-specific insight based on direct engagement with members and organizers across the province.
My Goal
My goal is straightforward.
British Columbia should be organized, engaged, and well represented within our national party well before the next election, and members should trust that their voice is being carried forward responsibly and with integrity.
